The four-storey office and laboratory facility, recently named the Schrödinger Building, is at the heart of the park's masterplan.
It will be dominated by extensive curtain walling ― but although the design will use high-performance solar control glass, Maple will still have an important role to play.
We will be supplying a bespoke brise soleil system to protect the interior from direct sunlight, along with specially created ‘shadow’ boxes on the side elevations.
In partnership with Bogle Architects and contractors Britplas and Barnwood Construction, we will also help create a large aerofoil canopy over the entrance ― a striking feature with 500mm solar screening blades.
Construction is due to finish in March 2018. Once completed, the building will be the only new Grade A office space available to rent in Oxford.
