The Glass Association of North America (GANA) announced that Marc Deschamps of Walker Glass has been elected chair of its Decorative Division. He succeeds Kris Vockler of ICD High Performance Coatings, who has chaired the division since its inception in 2007. Deschamps will take over as chair after at the division’s meeting next week at Glass Week, taking place March 24-27 at the Paris Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Deschamps, who was born and raised in Montreal, is a graduate of the Faculty of Management at Montreal-based McGill University. He worked from 1982 to 1992 in finance and accounting for major firms in Montreal before working as a controller and sales manager for Lamiver Inc., a glass laminating operation in Montreal. In 1998 he joined Walker Glass Co. Ltd. as director of finance and purchasing before becoming a sales representative and eventually business development manager. He has been actively involved with GANA for the past five years, serving in various committees and task groups.
