The Show generated a high level of interest in Ritec’s durable and time-tested surface protection systems for glass, metal and powder coatings to help maximise energy savings in buildings - and cut the cost, time and environmental impact of cleaning.
Solar panel manufacturers were especially interested in ClearShield High-Light Glass™ which offers ‘non-stick’ easy-clean protection to maintain higher energy conversion efficiency of solar panels. As part of a live demonstration to measure energy conversion levels on both a treated and untreated solar panel, Ritec presented the results of scientific studies showing that power output of a PV (photovoltaic) solar panel is reduced up to 50% when only 1.4% of the glass surface area is shaded by dirt.
Solar panel installers can also take advantage of this new business opportunity thanks to Ritec's new Solar Panel Starter Kit launched at the Show. Ritec's Operations Manager Christine Tatnall explains: “This all-new kit allows solar panel installers to add value by offering their customers ClearShield protection. The kit contains everything an installer will need to upgrade solar panels to ClearShield High-Light Glass in their workshops or in situ, maintaining the original performance of the PV panel."
Another big hit, especially with visitors from the education and healthcare sectors, was new ClearShield Anti-Microbial Glass™, which resists adhesion and growth of bacteria, viruses and fungi. This industry-first helps to reduce or eliminate the risks of glass becoming a breeding ground for infectious diseases. In addition to the health benefits, this type of glass reduces the use of environmentally hazardous cleaning chemicals.
As part of a proven range for the whole building envelope, Ritec also launched Ritecoat R625™ at Ecobuild for use on stainless steel and other bright metal surfaces. This latest addition to the Ritecoat range makes surfaces more resistant to staining and discolouration, and so easier to clean and keep clean without the need for harsh and abrasive cleaning methods. Cleaning frequency is also reduced, saving water and energy.
Both the ClearShield® and Ritecoat™ Systems are used to renovate, protect and maintain both new and existing surfaces, and save time, money and waste from having to replace them.
