Bachman Auto Glass of Wentzville, Mo. shared photos of the destruction near them.“Saturday is normally not that busy, but this Saturday was incredible and today we will do way more business than we did last year and I expect the rest of the week to pan out that way,” says Michael Eby, owner of Glass Doctor of St. Louis, located about ten miles from the storm damage.
St. Louis was the target of the country’s latest natural disaster this past Friday. According to the national weather service, the tornado was the largest to hit St. Louis in 44 years and reports of hail and flying debris were common. The damage caused by the storm was on the news nationwide and now local auto glass businesses are helping to clean up.
“We are starting to see business trickle in,” says Ken McKay, manager of Team 1 Auto Body and Glass in Hazelwood, Mo.
One of the areas hit the hardest was St. Louis’ Lambert Airport. Eby sent a technician out to do a job near the airport and the auto glass damage there will be felt for days to come.

The damage to vehicles seems to be across the board from body damage to broken windows.
“We just had two cars towed in that look like they probably got hit my falling trees,” says McKay. “It’s possible we will see more business as the week goes on.”
“We are mainly seeing tempered glass damage rather than windshields. We have seen a lot of damaged back glass.” says Eby.
