International Glass Specialists, Kingsport, Ind., opened a second warehouse operation in Chicago, according to a Feb. 17 release. The first warehouse opened in Charleston, S.C., in 2010.
The Chicago location will offer Vesat acid-etched glass manufactured by Vetromed S.p.A., Italy; polished wire glass from Central Glass Co., Japan;and patterned glass from China. IGS is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Vetromed products. IGS officials expect to add more specialty products to their Chicago warehouse offerings in the future. The company will deliver in truckload or half truckload quantities to Midwest customers from this location, or alternatively, customers will be able to pick up lesser quantities in Chicago with their own equipment.
