During the American Architectural Manufacturers Association National Summer Conference in Minneapolis, Marc LaFrance of the U.S. Department of Energy provided an update on the key research and development areas at the DOE regarding high performance, energy efficient windows. LaFrance, manager for Building Envelope and Windows R&D programs at the DOE in the Office of Building Technology, discussed the High Performance Window Volume Purchasing Program, Energy Star Phase II, and other issues, such as installing low-E storm windows for energy improvement.
