In first half year of 2011, the national cement production was 950,83 million tons, increased 19.6 percent compared the same time last year, and the growth rate increased 2.1 percent. The production of plate glass was 375,28 million weight cases, increased 19.1 percent, and growth rate increased 3.9 percent.
Cement price slightly rose while plate glass price continued to fall. In June, average cement factory price in key building materials enterprises was 391.9 yuan per ton, increased 4.9 yuan every ton compared to last month, increased 97.2 yuan every ton compared to the same time last year. The factory price of plate glass was 69.4 yuan per weight case, dropped 4 yuan every weight case, and dropped 7.8 yuan every weight case compared the same time last year. At the end of June, the inventory of cement in key building materials enterprises was 16,7 million tons, dropped 19.8 percent compared the same time last year. And the inventory of plate glass was 25,12 million weight cases, increased 41 percent.
During first five months, the profit of building material industry was 102,05 billion yuan, increased 62.7 percent compared the same time last year, the growth rate increased by 1.7 percent. Cement industry profit was 35,26 billion yuan, increased by 1.7 times and increased 141 percent. Plate glass industry profit was 1,4 billion yuan ,dropped 55.9 percent, increased 7.9 times compared the same time last year.
