Transformer’s latest video is all about how tough ASUS’ Gorilla glass protection is. The clip has been made for ASUS’ college-focused Campus Life website and runs through a series of tests that truly test the scratch and impact resistance of the tablet’s 10.1″ screen.
To start with, an Apple is sliced on the tablet’s screen. Second stage opens up to the prospect of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer surrounded by keys, Canadian change, and nails. In the first run, the screen is scratched many times over with the key. In the second test, a coin is used to scratch all over the screen with pressure. Then a bunch of coins are dropped on the display from a height. Still good. The third test has the demonstrator running a nail all over the beautiful display and then a whole lot of them are thrown on it. Phew…still good.
Of course, ASUS couldn’t stop there. The last was an archery test and the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer succumbed. Yeah, well, in a real life scenario if I was on the receiving end of a bow and arrow, I’d much rather have the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer have it instead of me anyway.
Alright ASUS, point taken. The ASUS Eee Transformer Pad has a strong Gorilla protecting it. Except that if something were to happen to the tablet in real life, there’s a greater danger of the tab falling flat on its face on a concrete floor than someone throwing coins on it. Would it survive then?
