SPECIALIST glass makers in the North East have bolstered their workforce in an effort to keep up with demand. Romag, which was bought by the Sunderland-based Gentoo group in April, has seen orders increasing for their high quality, UK manufactured solar photovoltaic, security, architectural and transport glass.
Phil Murray, newly appointed managing director of Romag, said the 20 new staff would be a great help in continuing to provide a top service for customers.
“Romag is committed to supplying the highest quality products in order to meet customer requirements, both now and in the future,” he said. “Working alongside our current team, the new staff will be instrumental in helping us to do just that.”
Mr Murray said Romag plans to continue to improve and grow its business, building on its reputation as an industry leader. A veteran in the industry and one of only two solar panel assembly companies in the UK, Romag is “trusted worldwide” to provide PV panels to meet the extensive needs of its diverse range of customers.
With products suitable for a wide range of projects, including new build and retrofit housing, all Romag’s PV panels are Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited, guaranteeing quality and compliance with the Government legalisation required to claim the Feed in Tariff.
“With demand for solar PV on the up, we are also investing in a third production line to further expand capacity and benefit from the fantastic growth opportunities that the renewable energy sector offers moving forward,” said Mr Murray.
