The 8th Market Seminar of East China glass enterprises was held in New Century Hotel, Hangzhou on August 31,2011,more than 22 enterprises of glass industry attended the seminar. The seminar was organized by Zhejiang Glass Co., Ltd.
Deputy Manger of Zhejiang Glass Co., Ltd Mr. Feng Liwen delivered welcome speech first before Mr. Zhou Zhiwu, vice executive secretary of China Architectural and Industrial Glass Association analysised the conditions and trend of Chinese Flat Glass Industry. The participants reported current inventory, production and sales on their respective business and has reached an agreement on the market trend through discussion and analysis. The complete production of float glass is 328.6 million standard cases during January to June, 2011, which increased 18.4% compared with the last year while profit of flat glass industry claims a year-on-year drop of 55%. The glass industry is faced with grim situation currently of fast growth in capacity and cost, accompanied with limit growth in foreign trade. The market is also facing good opportunities of rapid development in real estate ,auto industry, information and solar industry . It’s an important period of transition for glass industry with challenges and opportunities coexisting.
