Representatives from Kraft Canada and the Conception Bay South Kraft Hockeyville local organizing committee joined Conception Bay South Deputy Mayor John Hicks to install new arena safety glass at the Robert French Memorial Stadium in the small Newfoundland town on Thursday morning.
Thanks to Conception Bay South's victory in the Kraft Hockeyville 2011 competition, the glass installation is one of many arena upgrades the community will be able to fund due to the $100,000 grand prize. The upgrades will help Robert French Memorial Stadium continue to serve as a vital cog in the community.
As the winner of the competition, Conception Bay South will also receive a visit from CBC's "Hockey Night in Canada" and will host an NHL preseason game featuring the Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators on Sept. 26. The game will be played at Mile One Centre in nearby St. John's.
