The Indiana Glass Association (IGA) has named its annual golf fund-raiser after Pat Petrucci, a longtime member of the IGA.
"Pat has been a dedicated member of the board, and I am quite sure without Pat the IGA would not be in existence today," says Marlin Burns, president of IGA. "We look forward to honoring Pat at the golf outing as she has been such a supporter of the IGA.
The golf tourney is coming up on September 22.
Last year, the board of the IGA decided to change the name of the golf outing to Pat Petrucci Golf Classic to recognize her many years of service to the IGA, Burns says. Petrucci retired from the IGA this spring due to health reasons and Burns took over as president, along with Dave Wilson and Brandon Reeve on the board.
Petrucci holds the longest record of continuous service in the IGA's 13-year history, Burns says. "A 33-year veteran of the automotive glass industry, her knowledge and experience in the glass business has been invaluable to her work at Glass Depot and on the IGA board," he says.
Petrucci began her career as a customer service representative at Stewart Carey Inc. in 1966, and worked her way up to automotive products manager for retail and wholesale operations. In 1986, she joined Glass Depot, and shortly thereafter, became involved with the IGA.
During her tenure with the association, Petrucci has served in every possible capacity including one term as president. "She remains a staple of the association," Burns says. "She adds the needed stability, history and knowledge that helps keep the association focused and on track.
"I feel privileged to have been associated with so many fine people in the glass industry, and to make a difference in their lives through the Indiana Glass Association," Petrucci says.
The 25th annual golf fundraiser will feature 18 holes of game at Hickory Stick Golf Club in Greenwood, food, fun and prizes. Burns reports a full house. "This outing solely benefits our scholarship fund for graduating seniors that have family affiliation with IGA members," he says.
The IGA has given out close to $25,000 in scholarships so far.
Fees to attend the tourney is $120 per person or $480 per team, and includes all golf fees, cart, mulligans, prize raffle ticket, hole-in-one prize tees, beverages, snacks, lunch and dinner. Members get $25 discount. A portion of the proceeds will go to the IGA Educational Scholarship Fund. Call 317/925-3126. To sponsor or donate, call 888/442-4420.
