After identifying through member engagement activities that there was a requirement for quality provision of glass specific qualifications at level 2 and higher, The British Glass Centre will now be able to deliver quality qualifications and added value to the UK glass industry through the development of its workforce.
As an approved Centre, we will be able to up-skill the existing workforce, increase the amount of learning and development undertaken within the industry, facilitate the recruitment and training of new employees and apprentices and develop new qualifications for the industry in conjunction with GQA and member companies.
We can now offer the following GQA qualifications:
Linked to the GQA Level 2 Framework:
- Certificate in Glass Related Operations
- Certificate in Glass Processing
- Certificate in Glass Container Processing
- Diploma in Glass Container Manufacture
- Certificate in Flat Glass Manufacture
- Certificate in Glass and Glass Related Distribution and Warehousing
- Award in Knowledge of the Principles of the Glass Relate Working Environment
Linked to the GQA Level 3 Framework:
- Certificate in Glass Related Operations
- Diploma in Glass Processing
- Diploma in Glass Manufacturing
- Certificate in Glass and Glass Related Distribution and Warehousing
- Certificate in Knowledge of the Principles of the Glass Related Working Environment
Operating from our Head Office in Sheffield, The Centre has competent individuals responsible for the assessment, internal verification and internal quality assurance of qualification delivery. We will also be operating nationally which will be supplemented by Assessors and Internal Verifiers (IV) based within member companies.
