Leading UK glass processor and distributor Glassolutions Solaglas is growing with the opening of a new branch in Gateshead to enhance its service to the door and window industry and building trades in the North East of England. Conveniently located in premises on the Team Valley Trading Estate just off the A1, the new Glassolutions Solaglas branch will provide a wide range of glass products including CONTRAFLAM® fire-resistant glass, EcoClear® double and triple glazed sealed units and VITRIO® coloured glass for splashbacks.

Like all Glassolutions Solaglas outlets, Gateshead features a trade counter to serve passing local tradespeople and offers delivery services throughout the region. Initially creating three new jobs, the branch will serve customers across Tyne & Wear, Northumberland, County Durham and Teesside.
The move reflects the company's focus on getting close to its customers across all sectors as part of its 'your glass, our world' programme following the rebrand from Solaglas to Glassolutions last year. The group now has 18 trade outlets across the UK and has recently also strengthened its presence in the insurance market.
New Glassolutions Solaglas branch supervisor at Gateshead Peter Ward says: “For many years we’ve served a loyal customer base throughout the North East from our Bradford branch and this has worked extremely well.
“Equally though we recognise that many of our customers value being able to pop into one of our local branches, access face-to-face technical advice and build a relationship with their local team – this all adds up to Glassolutions Solaglas delivering an even better service locally.”
Glassolutions Solaglas expects its choice of location at Team Valley to prove popular with local tradesmen and women who already purchase many of their building materials from various outlets on the trading estate, including from the neighbouring branch of Saint-Gobain Group sister company Graham Heating Spares.
