The Texas Glass Association now offers glass industry certification programs through the Glass Institute of Texas. As its first training initiative, the Glass Institute of Texas, in partnership with the National Glass Association, will provide a "Fundamentals in Glazing" course that includes: access to the MyGlassClass.com architectural and flat glass course catalogue, a one-day course presented by industry professionals and a certification test. Upon successful completion of the test, participants will be individually recognized by NGA and the Glass Institute of Texas, according to a TGA release.
TGA will host two one-day courses, on September 7 in Dallas, and October 19 in Houston. The one-day course material will address topics including first aid and workplace safety; glass types, handling and glazing practices; basic framing requirements; storefront vs. curtain wall; blueprint reading; and sealants.
Registration is open, and state-wide and regional sponsorship opportunities are available.
