AGC Group increased net sales in its glass segment through the first half of 2017 on a year-over-year basis, according to the company’s latest financial report.
Sales were $3.23 billion for the period, up 4.1 percent from the same timeframe a year ago. AGC said this is “mainly because shipments of architectural glass remained favorable in North America and selling prices increased in Europe as compared to the same period of the previous year.”
Operating profit was $130 million, down 11.7 from the same period of the previous fiscal year. This decline was due to “the increase of raw materials and fuel prices despite the price hike of architectural glass in Europe,” according to AGC.
