Veka will be adding a fourth extrusion plant in North America
Veka has announced that it will be adding a fourth extrusion facility in North America. The company says site selection has been narrowed down to three existing plant properties in the Carolinas, with each facility featuring more than 160,000 square feet of floor space. That plant will open in 2018.
The new location will accommodate up to 30 extrusion lines and will also include manufacturing support, value-added services, offices and warehouse space.
“In 2015, we surpassed our pre-recession sales and production levels,” said Joe Peilert, Veka’s North American president. “We made strategic investments at all three North American facilities to accommodate our growth. We are continuing to add capacity to our existing sites in Fombell, Pa., Reno, Nev., and Terrell, Texas.”
Veka also announced that its South and North American companies will establish a warehouse and logistics centre in Mexico during the fourth quarter of 2017. The goal is to continue to offer American systems as well as a broader selection of Euro platforms. Klaus Knops, who recently joined the South American Veka team, will assume the market responsibility for Latin America.
“We are excited to continue to invest in the Americas based on our strength and the potential of increased market share,” said Andreas Hartleif, Veka AG group chair.
The company employs more than 900 employees in the region.
