1100 15th Street Midtown Center was designed by SHoP Architects; the insulating and safety glass is the key on this new enclosure
Isolar Glas, one of the main European glass fabricator associations, has granted Tvitec System Glass the “Most Representative Project Award” for its performance on the glazing of 1100 15th Street Midtown Center. This building complex is a Tvitec’s landmark in Washington, DC.
Tvitec supplied from its premises in Cubillos del Sil, close to Ponferrada, more than 22,000 square metres of different sustainable glass products to transform the former Washington Post Headquarters into a modern commercial and office complex that will host the Fannie Mae Headquarters. The Isolar Award 2018 was handed to a Tvitec’s delegation during the annual meeting of the German glass association.
This award will be shared with the main agents of the project development, especially those related to the façade execution: the prestigious architecture office, SHoP, the curtain wall installer, Oldcastle Building Envelope (OBE) and the General Contractor, Clark Construction.
Tvitec fabricated for the Midtown Center project, developed by Carr Properties, about 5,000 insulating glass units with high selective coatings Guardian Climaguard Premium 2T and AGC Stopray Vistion 50T on Ipawhite in order to enhance the energy efficiency both in the inside and outside of the building.
The Spanish architectural glass fabricator performed its technology 4.0 on tempering (HST) and laminating to warranty the safety and soundproofing properties specified on this challenging project.
