Freefoam Plastics, a leading manufacturer of a wide range of innovative products for the building industry in Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe, has obtained CE certification for its product range. All products manufactured by the company will have the CE mark going forward indicating conformance with all community harmonised legislation.
CE marking, a European Commission initiative, is a key indicator of a product’s compliance with EU legislation and enables the free movement of products within the European market. By affixing the CE marking on a product, a manufacturer is declaring, on his sole responsibility, conformity with all of the legal requirements to achieve CE marking and therefore ensuring validity for that product to be sold throughout the European Economic Area (EU Member States and EFTA countries Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein).
Dr. Jim Tobin, Quality Manager, comments, “We’re delighted to obtain CE certification for our products. It has taken a significant amount of work to get it in place as it’s the manufacturer’s responsibility to carry out the conformity assessment, to set up the technical file, to issue the EC declaration of conformity and to affix CE marking on its products. However, we’re confident that the effort will pay dividends as it provides our customers with the assurance that our products conform with all EU requirements and makes it easier for us to market our products in all countries throughout Europe.”
