Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited announced that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for its production complex located in the Economic and Technology Development Zone in Yingkou, Liaoning Province in China. Officiating guests included CHEN Xi, deputy Communist Party secretary of Liaoning Province, XUE Heng, vice governor of Liaoning Province and WEI Xiao-peng, Communist Party secretary of Yingkou City.
According to the announcement, the total investment of the company’s Yingkou production complex is expected to exceed HK$1 billion (approximately $130 million USD ), with a total area of 868,000 square meters.
Phase I of the production complex is scheduled to be completed and commence production in the second quarter of 2012, principally producing float glass and low-E glass. The company says once production begins the complex will be the largest high quality float glass and energy saving glass production base in northeastern China, laying a solid foundation for its expansion in northeastern China and helping broaden the local customer base.
