Strainoptics Inc. has announced the appointment of Scott Eric Slavin as director of product development. Slavin has experience in research and development, including having worked in senior scientist and technology management positions at companies such as Corning, Rohm and Haas and the David Sarnoff Research Center in Princeton, N.J.
Slavin holds a Ph.D. in materials science engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. According to Strainoptics president, Joel Feingold, Dr. Slavin’s focus will be in developing new instruments and technologies for measuring stress and optical distortion.
He resides in Fairless Hills, Pa.
