[China Glass Network] It is an amazing building that looks like a huge hyaline “spacecraft” landing on the Cupertino California United States. The special feature lies in the hull of the “spacecraft”, which is formed by a huge complete arc-shaped glass and it is the largest arc-shaped glass by now. The “donut-like” four-layer business building is the new headquarters of “Apple” which will be built on the HP's former site. It can hold 12,000 staff, merely the Café can meet demand of 3,000 people at the same time.
Who can provide huge arc-shaped tempering glass for the “spacecraft”, which values billions of dollars?
On 6 June, 2011, through a 1M180 flat bent tempering unit, North Glass produced the world’s largest bent tempered glass with the size of 18m*3.6m.
Specking of the relation between North Glass and Apple, it should be back to Lujiazui, when the Apple’s flagship store hadn’t built. At that time, all the Regular Chain building of Apple were using crystal clear glass as its feature in the world, the huge bent tempering glass is difficult to produce in the world, the world’s most advanced company can produce 5m only. Therefore, they designed to build the Lujiazui store as it in New York and Sydney. It is North Glass who raised a bold ideas of using of 12.6-meter-high bent tempered glass, which attained the appreciation of Apple, finally, the “Crystal Light” erected brightly among Pudong buildings, together with Oriental Pearl, they are sparking in Shanghai. It was a good example, which also brought lots of thoughts for both North Glass and Apple.
In order to build the Lujiazui Shanghai store of Apple, North Glass has developed the world’s largest bent tempered glass production technology and its equipment, cooperated with the suppliers of world’s leading ultra-white glass and adhesive SGP; they formed an Industry Alliance, which achieved a perfect combination of building glass, serving for the high-end customers.
Now, Beijing North Glass is trying their efforts to produce the glass used for Hong Kong flagship store of Apple.
