EVART -- Pittsburgh Glass Works announced today it will reopen its Evart, Mich. plant following increased demand for automotive glass products.
The facility was closed in 2009 because of excess capacity not expected to improve in the “forseeable future,” according to a release from the company, which supplies windshields, rear and side windows and sunroofs to auto and truck manufacturers.
The company plans to immediately begin preparing for new operations at the Evart plant. Production of tempered side windows is expected to begin before the end of the third quarter of this year.
