Taiwan Glass planned to invest 2000 million dollars in Guangxi Beihai to build a special glass project. On August 8th, Lin Bofeng, who is Vice president of Taiwan Federation of Industries, chairman of Taiwan Glass and Taiwan Glass Association signed the investment contract with Beihai mayor Lian Younong in Nanning.
Before they signed the contract, the chairman and two vice chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region government Ma Biao, Chen Wu and Yang Daoxi together with other officials met the visit group led by Lin Bofeng, and then they attended the signing ceremony.
Officials from Beihai city introduced that Taiwan Glass will take advantage of quartz, kaolin and other resources in Beihai to build two production lines of special glass. The total investment of the project is 200 million dollars. The project will start before the end of 2011, it covers 600 banbos, it is anticipated that the annual output will be 1.5 billion yuan after the project finished.
From July 25 to 27, Lin Bofeng has led a group to select site and negotiated with local departments of several issues about the project. The mayor said that it is just the time that Taiwan Glass invest in Beihai, and Beihai will fully support the project and realize win-win cooperation, to share the results of economic development together.
Taiwan Glass was founded in 1964 and focuses on glass industry business. After 40 years’ development, it has became the world sixth largest float glass company and second largest fiberglass company. By far, the company has built glass factory in Qingdao, Kunshan, Tianjing, Chendu, Wuhan and many other cities.
