Pilkington North America, Toledo, Ohio, has become an Energy Star partner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, according to a March 7 release. Pilkington energy-efficient products have carried the Energy Star label for the past 10 years. With this most recent Green Building partnership, the company will ensure its float glass manufacturing facilities that produce energy-efficient products are also operated with concern for the environment. Company officials believe that a strategic, corporate energy management program will help enhance the company's financial health and aid in preserving the environment for future generations.
“Pilkington North America is pleased to partner with Energy Star, and we look forward to doing our part to fully support the program by continuing to improve the energy efficiency at our plants,” said Todd Huffman, vice president of operations, Building Products North America, in the release.
In partnership with Energy Star, Pilkington North America will:

In partnership with Energy Star, Pilkington North America will:
- Measure and track the energy performance of its facilities where possible by using tools such as those offered through Energy Star;
- Develop and implement a plan consistent with the Energy Star Energy Management Guidelines to achieve energy savings;
- Help spread the word about the importance of energy efficiency.
