A heat-reducing glass technology can extend the range performance of electric and hybrid vehicles by cutting down the amount of solar heat absorbed by cars.

According to the Enhanced Protective Glass Automotive Association, the usage of the heat-reducing glass can help overcome doubts among consumers regarding the range performance of electric vehicles, especially in the United States market.

The association claims utilizing advanced utilizing a laminated glass designed to cut down on the solar heat load of cars is one way of extending the range performance of electric and hybrid cars.

The laminated glass industry- group calls the technology “Advanced Solar Control” glass.
