A metallic glass

A metallic glass stronger than steel has been created by engineers at UC Berkeley and Cal Tech. The material is made with palladium, phosphorous, silicon, germanium and silver and is designed to bend rather than crack, unlike more brittle glassy materials
A metallic glass stronger than steel has been created by engineers at UC Berkeley and Cal Tech. The material is made with palladium, phosphorous, silicon, germanium and silver and is designed to bend rather than crack, unlike more brittle glassy materials. It also retains the scratch-resistant features of glass. The researchers say it is one of the toughest and strongest materials known.
