For kids traveling in the back seat of their parents’ car, the commute can be a dreary one.

Toyota has unveiled a concept design for car windows that transforms them into touchscreens, letting passengers interact with the outside world, augmented reality-style.

There are all the hallmarks of touchscreen devices, from pinch to zoom and a Brushes-like feature, as well as some neat educational tools, for example letting users find out the distance between points by ‘tapping’ them.

The concept was created by Toyota Motor Europe in collaboration with the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design.
