In order to reduce safety accident of glass curtain wall, Shanghai regulation working conference of glass curtain wall held yesterday announced that start from the data of March 30, 2012, Shanghai will develop a special inspection treatment on glass curtain wall that have built. At the same time, Shanghai will be more restrict on approval of the use of newly built glass curtain wall, and require these projects to set a maintenance fund on them.
The conference claimed that property unit is the first person who is responsible for the safety of glass curtain wall, and it demanded that all glass curtain wall building property unit have to implement comprehensive self-examination before September 15, and have to rectify before December 31 if any problem is found.
It is informed that Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission Shanghai Housing Support Housing Authority have organized a team on inspecting glass curtain wall that have built, mainly in charge of specific inspection. And the work has three sections, they are self-inspection section ( before September 15 ), clarifying section ( September 20 to December 30 ), patrolled section (January 1, 2012 to March 30, 2012 ).
It is required that all glass curtain wall buildings must be included in self-inspection section, all unsafe glass curtain wall must be clarified in clarifying section and all poor rectification property units must be punished in patrolled section.
I t is also demanded that glass curtain wall building management should cover the approval of the use of newly built glass curtain wall, make sure that they have set the maintenance fund, set a information system of glass curtain wall building, inputting building, inspection and maintenance information timely, realizing the computerized management of glass curtain wall buildings and strengthen the construction enterprises’ integration duties of construction, maintenance and consolidation.
By far, there still no a specific number of how many glass curtain wall buildings in Shanghai. I t is informed that Shanghai glass curtain wall management approach will be issued in near future.
