Recently several accidents caused by explosion and falling by glass curtain wall has  happened in Shanghai, which causes panic among the citizens. Relevant departments and organizations of the industry have taken efforts to carry out comprehensive test about glass curtain walls, but it’s really not a easy job in view of the widely use of glass curtain walls in mostly buildings in Shanghai now.

Glass curtain wall was firstly used in the construction of Haliday Building of America and quickly become “required option” in the design of domestic buildings during a period less than 100 years . How could it be so popular in such short time? Maybe it’s because that glass can make the heavy buildings taller day after day more transparent and less ponderous.

We’re glad to see the buildings of the city become more and more beautiful and modern, but what we really need to care more is the safety of people. When there’re more and more accident caused by glass curtain walls, it’s time for us to consider getting rid of the over-reliance on it.
