An often unturned stone for these businesses is the use of light up or LED equipped drink ware. The problem with these items has traditionally been that they are one time use only. Glasses with electronics in them typically do not do well in the dishwasher.
But Windy City Novelties has changed all that with the introduction of their light up drink ware with detachable bases. This new line glasses equipped with light emitting diodes (LEDs) has confined all the electronics to the stem and base of the cups. This allows the top to be unscrewed and quickly cleaned, without warping, on the top shelf of a dishwasher.
Company spokesman Jeff Schrimmer says that the new light up drink ware finally makes it possible for owners to invest in these cups for long-term use. He says that, "This improvement is a long time coming and we hope that it will be helpful for owners and managers alike. Light up cups are always a big retail item for us, we just hope this new option makes people see their value as a wholesale item too."
The dishwasher safe light up drink ware are available in a variety of traditional cup styles including margarita, martini, champagne and wine glasses. The cups can also be purchased with the choice of white, black, or clear stems and bases.
Schrimmer adds that while most people view specialty drink ware as an item just for the holidays, he has good reason to believe that the light up cups can draw a crowd all year round.
