Recently scientists of Laval University, Canada has developed a new range of anti-fog coating material for glass ,which can enable optical properties of the glass at the same time.
“The new material is based on polyvinyl absorbent material ,with the property to prevent formation of spray on the surface of glass. This ultra-thin coating on the surface of glass can be retained for a long time, completely remove the water on the surface of the glass without any tiny drop left on it.” Rochela, officer of the research group introduced.
The technical difficulty of the new product lies in making the coating material combined with the glass for a long time. The solution by the researchers is to coat layers of special molecular material with strong viscosity on the surface of glass, then the anti-fog coating can be well agglutinated with the glass.
Stating that normal anti-fog coating usually separates from the glass after cleanings thus need frequent re-apply, now the trouble is easily cleared up by the new coating that just needs to apply once.
