It is an important safety measure to have clean automobile windows. Stains from cigarettes and runs from glass cleaners obstruct the vision of drivers. Blurry windows from inadequate cleaning can reflect lights at night and cause visual impairment while driving. Vinegar cuts and dissolves nicotine stains and grease on windows. Using vinegar and newspaper for cleaning will not leave streaks on glass

Instructions

    •  1
Mix a solution of one part vinegar to two parts water in a pan. Stir the solution gently to mix well.

    • 2

Place the solution in a spray bottle. Spray the windows with the cleaning solution and wipe off. Use newspaper in an up-and-down motion, and follow with a side-to-side motion over the same area.

    • 3

Dry windows thoroughly with additional newspaper so there are no streaks. Clean the outside of each window first and then the inside of each window. This will clean the dirtiest part on the outside first so that any spots or tough stains will be evident from the inside of the automobile after cleaning the inside.

    • 4

Roll the side windows down part way to clean the top few inches of each window both inside and outside. Debris catches on the top edges of windows and then travels with the window when rolling it up.

    • 5

Use a razor blade to scrape any stuck-on debris off windows. Scrape the area gently with the razor blade while holding it at a 45-degree angle to the window.

Tips & Warnings

  •

Clean the front and back automobile windows by spraying the cleaning solution on the newspaper first and then wiping the glass. This will keep over-spray from getting on the front and back dashes. Over-spray of any sort on a dash will remove any type of dash conditioner and leave spots.

  •

Do not clean automobile glass in direct sunlight. The sun will evaporate the water in the cleaning solution and can cause streaks from the cleanser.
